Arangetram is a milestone in a daner's life. Arangetrams are a milestone in an indian classical dancer's life. It takes conviction, perseverence and dedication to follow through the rigorous focus needed to get to a stage where a student is capable of presneting an arangetram. Arangetrams can be in a solo as well as group format and is done to live orchestra. Self motivation as well as a keen interest in learning bharathanatyam are two important things considered when we declare a student ready for arangetram. Techinical prowess alone cannot be considered as a criteria to be selected. Please see below for our selection criteria. |
Selection Criteria :A genuine and keen interest in learning Bharathanatyam, its history and significance. Demonstrating patience and perseverence through the years. Readiness to work hard to attain a goal. Self motivated and a positive attitude. Completed a full maargam. Physical Stamina to perform a 2-3 hour continous performace. Be able to communicate with audience through Abhinaya skills. Be able to execute Nritta neatly and to the best of the individual student's ability. |
